The Lost Episode refers to the March 30, 2012 episode of Red Eye which went unaired. No warning was given prior to air time that the episode was not going to be shown. The episode that did air was from March 28.
The unofficial title was given by the Red Eye Pit Crew Twitter account and perpetuated by Sherrod Small, who was on the panel that night. Small offered the following explanation via Twitter on why the episode was yanked:
"I found out what happen. (sic) They had to do so much editing on that ep that they had to show rerun. (sic)"
During the Post-Game Wrap-Up on March 31, host Greg Gutfeld provided a different explanation:
"About last night's show: It didn't live up to my expectations, and our viewers & Fox News deserved a better show, so I scrapped it."
The Lost Episode did not air as the Saturday rerun, either. Instead, March 29's episode was chosen. In addition, the episode was never uploaded on Hulu.com, where other Red Eye episodes are viewable.
Julie Banderas and Steven Crowder have not appeared on Red Eye since this episode was taped.
