Dana Vachon is a writer, former investment banker and former semi-regular on Red Eye. He also filled in for Andy Levy as ombudsman; he used to do so with regularity, but has not done so since April 18, 2011. He filled in for Bill Schulz as Greg Gutfeld's sidekick once, on April 7, 2011. On that episode, he became the first person other than Schulz to manipulate Pinch. (The only other aside from Schulz is Greg Gutfeld.)
Vachon has become known for his off-the-wall, esoteric questions while ombudsing and for his good natured, on-air verbal sparring with Jesse Joyce, although the two haven't appeared on the same episode since February 8, 2011. Joyce and Greg Gutfeld often joked about Vachon's supposed large bankroll, chiding him about an alleged plethora of house servants and other such luxuries.
Dana has not appeared on Red Eye since 2012. In late March, 2013, he revealed via Twitter his dislike for Fox News and his unwillingness to appear on the network in the future. He also compared Fox News' president Roger Ailes to Joseph Goebbels. Red Eye host Greg Gutfeld took exception to this, and the two began a Twitter spat, where Vachon expressed that he still enjoyed Red Eye, but would not backtrack the Goebbels comment. Even some Red Eye fans Tweeted Vachon to express their displeasure. Michelle Malkin's Team Twitchy chronicled this exchange, as well.
